Has their smell been checked?

When we are completing a Melillo Method assessment, we check their smell, every time.

The ability to smell orange or mint in our little one's noses with sensory processing disorder, ADHD, Tourette's, autism, etc., most of them will get the smell wrong or they are not able to recognize it. This can tell us that their sense of smell is jumbled or not working properly.

If you think about it, if your smell is off, then you have to rely on the way that food looks or feels inside the mouth and not be able to actually appreciate the aroma of a particular food.

Chicken, it's chewy and gross to most if you can't appreciate the italian or garlic seasoning on it.
